Our original idea was to name the album after the single, 'One of the Boys' and we could therefore link the front and back covers to the video, i.e. with the baseball hat and hoody in comparison to the girlier look. However, we soon realised that this is the name of Katy Perry's album and so it would not be a good idea to use it as we need to create a whole new star profile, with no links to the original artist as these links could distract from the work we have put into creating the new image for the song. We have now decided to call the album 'Pretty in Pearls' as it is a line in the chorus of the song that we have selected and so links in. It also allows us to ecagerate the characteristics of a general pop genre CD cover with the close up shot, girly colours and glamorous hair and make up.
This Digi-Pack is very stylised for the audince. It is very girly and pop like, so will appeal to the audince of teenage girls. The colours are pink and white, which are popular for this audince. For font used for the name 'Poppy' is a handwriting font. This is effective again becuase it is girly, but also acts like a icon for her with the hearts too. Also for the back cover, the content page. The font again represents her image and suits the house style.
The main picture we used is very effective. In the shoot, the style we wanted was glamourous and girly, which is why we picked the bright pink glamour dress. We wanted her image to be fun and bright, showing personality. The main shot is effective becuase it is straight on and has a very simple but effective pose, so drawing attention onto her face as she is a brand new artist. The background running throughout the digipack includes flowers, again a very girly symbol but also adding to the 'prettyness' of the cover.
The digipack has got very good house style and appealing to our young teenage market. We are all very happy with it and think it is effective and a good selling point.
