Premlimary Task

One task as a class we did was to remake the famous Britney Spears video 'Hit me baby one more time'. This was a goood task to start with and I think it helped introduce the topic of music videos and get us started with it. We each worked in a small group and tried to copy and refilm the music video excatly how it was.
This task was alot harder than I thought. There were many problems I came across, including time problems, prop problems, camera issues and filming arrangements, eg free space. I am glad that theese problems happened through this small task so now I will much more aware and have a fuller picture of what to expect for our own music video's.
By doing this task I think it helped prepeare us for starting our own videos. I learnt that you have to plan fully and deeply for a sucessfull video. That the planning needs be very prepeared/thought through and clear for the task to work out. Also that you neeed to be quiet flexable in order to fit arrangements around you and complete the filimg.
This task acting like a run through before we start our main videos and I think it was very vauleable to do it as it gave us a chance to know what to expect and gain some experince with filimg and editing before our main music video task.
I think that my group overall did well as this is the first time we have ever filmed and used the computer systems, however there is alot of room for improvement. The biggest issue we had was timing. We didn't relise how time consuming that filiming would be, and we didnt know how many different shots there could be in such a small piece. Also, the planning. Even though we did plan and make arrangements, alot of them fell through for different resons so we now know to spend more time planning and making arrangements offical so people taking part know excatly arrangements, such as where to be at what time etc.
I have gained experince with using a camera and filimg, and also the editing system which we use. Theese are all essential skills to have for our own music videos, so this task gave us a oppertunity to start gaining experince with theese parts of it.
By doing this task it has really helped to prepeare us for the the main music task video and I do now feel more confident with starting our music videos than I did.
